Truffles came into the shelter as a stray and has not been claimed. She is a very, very energetic girl in desperate need of some obedience training. We believe she has some coonhound in her and can possibly be trained to hunt, with the right person. She is very focused on all of the other dogs here and would like nothing more than to fight with or play with them (depending on which dog it is). She need special handling and we are trying to work with her as much as possible. Scrappy came to us in very poor condition. He had a double ear infection and had scratch his ear so bad that he had to be taken into the vet to have it shaved and cleaned, tumors removed from his chest, and he was also neutered. He has finished his antibiotics, his stitches have been removed, and his hair is growing back on his ear, but he will have a permanent deformity. Jibbers was surrendered to the shelter through our animal control officer. It was reported that her and one of her off-springs killed another dog, but there was not any proof of this. She is very timid here at the shelter and is in need of some socialization. She is very loving to people and we recommend her to be the only dog in the home, due to implications by other people of aggression towards other dogs. She was very timid when she arrived and very slow to warm up to people. She has become more trusting of humans and would make a wonderful watch dog. Remington was surrendered to the shelter by his owner. He claimed that he tried to bite one of their young children. The owner is in a new relationship and was told to get rid of the dog. We have not witnessed any aggression with this dog. He is a big sweetheart and just wants to be with his humans. We do not recommend small children (under 10 yrs old) due to the fact the owner claimed he tried to bite.
